Began at the age of 4 under the guidance of his father, Francis, who ran the TC Sérignan. Aged 9, he was touted as an extremely promising future player. He debuted at French Open a few days before turning 16. Reached SF at Wimbledon 2007 and qualified for end-season Masters. Has won 8 titles last two of which were Bangkok 2012 (d. Simon) and Doha 2013 (d. Davydenko). Considered one of the most elegant players on court for his long swings and beautiful one-handed backhand.
