Of Greek heritage, had a moment of glory when in January 2013 aged 16 he jumped from nowhere to TV prime time to play against Verdasco at Hopman Cup. He was there as a reserve for Aussie Bernard Tomic but, following a dramatic turn of retirements, he ended up replacing John Isner and also played doubles with Venus Williams. As a junior he finished runner-up at AU Open 2013. Favourite player is Frenchman Gael Monfils “because he is so entertaining”.
